The story of Great Grandma Bellini ...
Great Grandma Bellini taught me the Italian
food business. She was a world famous chef and restaurant owner in Italy in
the
1800's. Her recipes are known the world over and are loved by
millions. She invented the dishes lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo
(Although she called it fettuccine Bellini), cheese ravioli's (I
later tried making them with meat when I was out of cheese and
they have become an international favorite.)
She one day created angel hair pasta when her pasta machine jammed,
and she is credited with a famous dish when she
had to feed the Royal Court and the veal was too old to be veal,
the King didn't want beef, so she made chicken Parmesan.
She dreamed up the recipe for Sangria, which was the fore runner of
today's Kool-aid and she thought about making up the
recipe for Tiramisu, but they hadn't invented instant coffee yet,
so I guess that I will have to take credit for that.
She was a hard worker, a brilliant business woman, and quite a
looker. I hope you enjoy your meal at Gary's Place today
and that you come again and again and again to try one of our
thousands of menu items. Thanks to Great Grandma
Bellini, I have learned how to please you as our guest with great
food, honesty, great prices, honesty, a clean restaurant,
and honesty.

P.S.- Do you see the family resemblance?
